Description:
We had a lot of empathy for this tired postman. After a long day in the city, he still had a 2 hour commute home. Most of the train commuters cannot afford to live in the city and have to endure long train rides between home and work.

OMGosh...does this ever bring back some memories!! I was living in Brooklyn and commuting to Manhattan back during the late 60's and early 70's. Two hours commuting every morning and each evening!! I can soooooo relate to your exhausted mailman!! Great candid shot, Fred! The flashing-by background is such a stark contrast to the sleepy passenger. ~ Diana

A great shot in so many ways. Full of depth and variety. The more you look the more you find something to think about.

Fred, there is so much to look at. Of course, the sleeping mailman catches my eye first, but then there is his newspaper resting at his side with his hand still holding on. There is something that appears to be a woman's reflection in the window. Where is she actually standing? Outside? Inside? Excellent!

Thanks Madeline and nice catch. Windows and reflections were kind of a theme during our trip to the City. In this case, the inside of the train. The woman in the window was my wife looking around me as I took this picture.
