Description:
This cattle rub, looking like it's right out of the old west, was installed by a rancher who leases some of our property for cattle. The rub is obviously a cowhide wrapped around a rope and tied between 2 trees. 2010 Fred Lassmann, All Rights Reserved.

By sheer stubborness, my rumpled hide struggles from one day to day, and year through year. This is a fantastic capture Fred!

When my husband asks me to please scratch his back...I sometimes complain and tell him he should tie a rope between two trees with a burlap bag attached to it so he can just go out and scratch like cattle do! ;0) This could definitely, as you mention, be a shot from the 1800.s in the west. Super shot especially with the sepia tones. ;0) Julie

Thanks Julie. I don't want to give you any ideas, but the rancher that hung the rub sprays it with insecticide for the cows in the summer.
